Rules for this homebrew item

A modified High-Capacity Arasaka Data Chip that can be slotted into a Chipware Socket.

The Doll Chip is Chipware (requires a Chipware Socket). Install: N/A. 3d6 HL if they install it willingly.

The Doll Chip can be paired to a computer, an Agent or a NET Architecture. A paired device can start a session as an Action. During a session, a paired device imports data into the wearer's psyche, steering the wearer's behaviour until the session is ended. The wearer forgets everything that happened during the session after it ends. The data and the desired behaviour must be written in advance in a Doll Program. A specific Doll Program is software that includes a desired behaviour and that has a level. The behaviour can be vague, such as "Do what X tells you." Increasing the Doll Program's level successfully requires a DV21 CyberTech Skill Check. A session can be maintained for 30 minutes for each level the Doll Program has.

If the wearer wants to resist the start of the session, they attempt a DV15 Resist Torture & Drugs Skill Check. If they succeed, they are immune to that Doll Program forever.

CAUTION: Items like this should generally be used on NPCs, not on Player Characters. This item can be used to take away player's control over their character and can make them do things they otherwise wouldn't. Scenarios which lead to feelings of powerlessness and loss of autonomy aren't what players play RPGs for. Using science-fiction to explore dark uses of technology isn't an excuse. You don't know what your players might have gone through. Better safe than sorry.

Delivering happiness... for the right price!
